Tomás. is Electronic Engineer and MBA Magister en Dirección y Gestión de Empresas from Universidad de Tarapacá in Arica, Chile.
He has worked at the Free Zone of Iquique as employee in the 1980s and as importer in 1990s. He has traveled to several countries for business, since 1983 he visited Tokyo, Hong Kong,  Frankfurt, Miami and New York among others. He has traveled also to Bolivia, Argentina and Perú, including a trip to the gold zone in the Peruvian Amazonia.
Has worked as consultant since 1985 in areas such as investment projects both public as private, due diligence, economic research,programming of micro applications and risk analisys among others.
He also worked at Minicipalidad Provincincial de Tacna (Perú) , as contractor at Poder Judicial de Arica and ocassionally he give lectures at Universidad de Tarapacá.
From 1995 to 2000 ee was appointed Perito Judicial by the Supreme Court, as expert in computer systems.
